What We Do

At Artemis Medispa we use the revolutionary method of Super Hair Reduction (SHR) Technology for permanent hair removal. By combining Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and Laser, this type of method was created to provide a faster, safer and pain free hair reduction treatment for clients.

For optimal results, multiple sessions are encouraged.

What is the difference between IPL and SHR?

Super Hair Reduction has several advantages over IPL hair reduction: it is easier, faster, and pain free.  SHR will allow you to experience comfortable, pain-free treatments in less than half the time of IPL. SHR is excellent for fast and pain-free hair reduction for larger areas.

SHR is pain-free because it scans the treatment area with up to 10 flashes per second, which gradually heats up the target area, instead of the high-intensity shots of the IPL, which may cause some discomfort.  The low-heat settings provide a level of safety, unlike any other laser hair removal procedure.

During your consultation, our clinician will discuss the expected results for your skin and hair type.  SHR treatments are suitable for a wide range of skin types and hair colors.  SHR decreases the amount of heat absorbed by the skin so treatment can also be done on tanned skin.  SHR is also ideal for lighter hair.

How many treatments will I need and how often?

Number of treatment sessions is dependent on your hair type.  Most clients require an 8 to 10-session treatment program for permanent hair removal, although hair will reduce and become thinner following each session.  A few clients may require subsequent maintenance sessions. This will be discussed during your consultation.  Hair follicles that were not in the active growth phase at the time of treatment, will need to be treated again.  Another example of when a maintenance session may be needed is following hormonal changes.

Treatments must be conducted at regular intervals; the exact timing depends on the area of the body that is being treated.

What can I expect?

With SHR facial hair will typically take 7 to 10 days to fall out, while body hair will take 2 to 3 weeks. Your clinician will discuss with you during the consultation because timing depends on skin type, hair coarseness and the natural growth cycle
